Watch the video on Product Activation, Simple Sharing, and License Check Out

  1. From the start up dialog box select Single User License.
  2. Click on the request key link, enter the user information; LAI####, E-store password and e-mail address are required. Your E–Store password must match the password we have on file for you, if you have forgotten your password click here).
  3. If your order is being processed, or has completed processing, your license key is auto-generated and the installation is automatically activated. This also applies to existing users who are upgrading.
  4. The license key will also be e-mailed to the address you entered; the license key can be cut and pasted from the e-mail if necessary.

Deactivating a license:

It may be necessary to deactivate your Single User License in order to install the license on a different or new computer. Deactivating a license frees up the license from your current computer. To deactivate a license follow these steps:

  1. Open the program
  2. Open the Installation and License Manager (ILM) from the Tools menu
  3. Click on the Deactivate License button
  4. Close the program
Now the license is available to be requested from a different computer, or the same computer if you wish.

Checkout this video on Deactivating a license!

Enable License Sharing:

License Sharing allows the owner of the license to share the license key with an additional computer via a persistent Internet connection. The license key exchange is facilitated by Lighting Analysts web server. With License Sharing enabled, the license key is in use when the program is open and freed on the web server when the program is closed. Up to two computers can share the license key, but only one computer can use it at a time.

  1. Open the program, select Installation and License Manager... from the Tools menu.
  2. Select Setup License Sharing.
  3. Enter a Sharing Name (a name for this license destination, example "Home"), a valid e-mail address and click Submit.
  4. The License key will be automatically generated and sent to the e-mail provided.
Important: License Sharing requires a persistent Internet connection.

Disable/Terminate License Sharing:

  1. Open the program, select Installation and License Manager... from the Tools menu.
  2. Select Convert to Single User License.
  3. A prompt will ask you if you really want to convert, select Yes.
  4. An additional prompt will let you know License Sharing has been terminated.

Check Out a Shared License:

  1. Open the program, select Installation and License Manager... from the Tools menu.
  2. Select Check Out Shared License.
  3. The Shared Check Out dialog box appears. Select the time you wish to check out your license.
  4. Click Check Out. License sharing is disabled until you check the license back in or the check out time expires.
  5. A prompt will notify you of a successful license check out.
Important: Checking out a license permanently is the same as disabling/terminating license sharing.

Convert Single User License to a Network License:

  1. Open the program, select Installation and License Manager... from the Tools menu.
  2. Select Convert to Network License.
  3. A prompt will ask you if you really want to convert, select Yes.
  4. Click on the Request Network Access Key link, enter the user information; LAI#### and e-mail address (optional)
  5. Your Network Access Key is auto-generated and the installation is automatically activated for network use
  6. Enter the server IP address where the LAI Network Service is installed.
Important: Your Single User License will no longer be valid and you cannot convert back to a single user license unless there is a single user license available on your account.

What do I do when my computer crashes and I have to rebuild?

Computers crash, that’s life! So what happens to your software and license after a crash? us it looks like your license is still checked out to your computer. This is what you will need to do to get up and running again:
  • First of all don’t panic!
  • After restoring your computer and re-installing the AGi32 or Photometric Toolbox software call us and let us know that you’ve rebuilt your computer. We’ll check in your license key making it available to you again. (Everyone else who may have a license will not be affected)
  • Then open the software and in the Installation and License Manager click the appropriate Activate Installation button to obtain a new license key.
  • Then go back to freaking out about your other software!
