Photometry - Manufacturer Guidelines

Attention Manufacturers!

Users of the AGi32 and Photometric Toolbox software programs are among the most sophisticated professionals in the lighting industry. As a manufacturer, you can place your companies photometric data at their fingertips in a neat, browsable format making it easy for them to select an specify your products! The Instabase System allows end users to download and install your database with a couple of mouse clicks and be using your photometry in a matter of seconds. Users can even subscribe to your data such that any upgrades to the database set a flag on the subscribers computer to remind them to obtain the new photometry.

On the manufacturers side, a web-based interface is provided to your data so that you can update it at any time. You can manage multiple databases for different brand names, restrict access if necessary (think prototypes only for your reps), and have complete control over how your company appears and is connected to the system.

This is a completely FREE system for all manufacturers. Don't miss this opportunity to be in front of the most powerful specifiers in the industry. What are you waiting for? Download the instructions and the compiler today!

Stand Alone Compiler Available

The stand alone compiler to be used with the Instabase System compatible with AGi32 versions >2.03 and Photometric Toolbox versions >1.66 is available now. Please install and use this version to ensure your Instabase is uploaded properly. Please use this link to obtain the standalone version of the compiler.
[Be sure to select "Save to disk..." when downloading, double click to install].

Documentation for preparing your photometric Instabase for the latest releases is available here. Existing Instabases will compile with no changes required. However, there are new capabilities providing web links and LCS data (IESNA TM-15) in your Instabase for AGi32 users. Be sure to read about this in the Manufacturers Guidelines PDF below. Newly produced data is backwardly compatible for users of older versions of AGi32 (1.7 to 2.0).

IMPORTANT! Instabase files prepared using the old compiler will no longer upload to the Instabase web server!

Instructions for Creating an Instabase

The process of creating an Instabase file from your product photometry is really quite easy. It consists of simply organizing your photometrics into a series of folders by product. Drop a JPG image in each folder to match the products within, and you have done the minimum. To make your data even more robust to end users, add website links and custom luminaire symbols. There are a few rules of course, and this is all outlined in the PDF document below. Get going!
