We are pleased to offer a variety of licensing types to assist our customers with their software needs. The descriptions below will help you to learn more about installation and licensing procedures for the various licensing options.

A Single User license allows users to access the installed software (AGi32 or Photometric Toolbox) on one computer at a time. The license can be used on a work PC, home PC, or laptop, but not at the same time. This license can be converted to a Network License through the purchase of the Network Service, or shared using the License Sharing feature (see License Sharing below).
Computers crash, that’s life! So what happens to your software and license after a crash? Well...to us it looks like your license is still checked out to your computer. This is what you will need to do to get up and running again:
| | First of all don’t panic!After restoring your computer and re-installing the AGi32 or Photometric Toolbox software call us and let us know that you’ve rebuilt your computer. We’ll check in your license key making it available to you again. (Everyone else who may have a license will not be affected)Then open the software and in the Installation and License Manager click the appropriate Activate Installation button to obtain a new license key.Then go back to freaking out about your other software! |
License Sharing can be activated for a Single User or Term License. There are two different and separate types of sharing: Simple Sharing and Advanced Sharing. Simple Sharing is a feature included in the Single User License. See Simple Sharing for more information. Advanced Sharing is more robust and offered for a fee. Advanced Sharing allows users to share up to five licenses with up to ten distinct computers. Find all the details under Advanced Sharing.

The Single User Term License is a full license with a specific term (time limited duration). The license term is determined at the time of purchase. This feature is available on AGi32 only.

Network licensing for AGi32 and Photometric Toolbox products can be purchased for customers requiring access to the software among multiple users concurrently. The Network Service software is installed and registered (keyed) on your server, allowing the client machines to access AGi32 or Photometric Toolbox licenses over the network. The LAI Network Service does not depend on an Internet connection, so it is ideal for closed LAN and WAN systems. The Network Service can operate on any Windows based server with a static IP address within the appropriate class-B subnets. Clients must have a persistent connection to the server where the LAI Network service is installed and running.

A Trial License provides a fully functional version of the software for a designated trial period. This period consists of a predetermined number of days and/or startups as set by Lighting Analysts.

The Educational License is available to University level lighting educators to incorporate AGi32 and Photometric Toolbox into their curriculum. The Educational version is identical to the retail version, with the exception that the EDU license carries an established expiration date.

Single User Licenses can be transferred from one computer to another without the use of the old "transfer disk" technology.
